A technical visit will be held to The Habitat Penang Hill on October 31, 2018. Two interesting sites will be visited are:

 

1. Curtis Crest (Tree Top Walk)

Curtis Crest is a 13m high 360-degree viewing platform on Penang Island. It was named in honour of Charles Curtis, the first English superintendent of Penang Botanical Gardens. Curtis Crest has a total length of 100 meters at about 820m above sea level. It gives a different view of trees from top.

2. Langur Way (Canopy Walk)

Langur Way is an approximately 230m long bridge and it stands at 15m high at the highest point. It is named after the langur monkey found on Penang Hill. It is constructed by two 115-meter long stress ribbon bridges with a short connecting branch.

08:15 - Reach Penang Hill Train Station

09:00 - Technical Talk on the Design and Construction of Curtis Crest and Langur Way by the Consultant

09:30 - Visit to Curtis Crest and Langur Way

10:30 - Guided Nature Tour

12:00 - Lunch and Free & Easy

            Lunch will not be provided by the organizer, please bring your own food for lunch or take the lunch at the restaurant or food &

            beverage centre in Penang Hill:

            - David Brown's Restaurant and David Brown's Sky Terrace serves western food

            - Astaka Bukit Bendera (Cliff Cafe) serves local delights

14:30 - Depart to Penang Hill Lower Station and return to Setia SPICE Convention Centre

16:00 - Reach Setia SPICE Convention Centre

 

Note: 1. End of the year is the raining season in Penang. The weather in Penang Hill is unpredictable. Please bring along the

              umbrella.
